As choosing the benchmark candidates will be only from whats available in the Swedish market, I have chosen to use the listing in Swedish. If enough many readers request it in English too, by adding a comment below, I might include that in the near future.
I will keep the loudspeakers and test various recievers, their various DRC against each other. I dont think I need “the best and most expensive” receiver as baseline to compare others against? What do You think?
The loudspeakers are: 1 x Velodyne DD18, 2 x Klipsch Palladium P 37F, 1 x Klipsch RC3 center, 2 x Klipsch RS3 rear.
Made a list of what I consider possible candidates. Prices in SEK including VAT (1 USD is app 10 SEK). Prices in swedish market as of November 11:th 2024.

Denon 4800 verkar vara på utförsäljning? Har HiFi-klubben för många på lager och nån ny modell är på G? Den kostade väl över 25.000:- när den kom för knappt 2 år sedan och sedan dess har ju dollarn blivit dyrare?
Oavsett vilket, så verkar det vara bästa valet för pengarna just nu, trots att några tusen extra tillkommer för Dirac-licensen.
Audyssey XT 32 som är nog så kompetent vad gäller att justera tonkurvan medföljer ju gratis i alla fall.
There is a cheaper Onkyo TX-RZ30 with a full Dirac license included, that is about 20% cheaper than the TX-RZ50 model in the table. That seems to be the cheapest way for a competent DRC-receiver, at the moment.
Could You include that in Your testings?

I would like to see the table with English text, or in a format that can be fed to Google translator, even if I get most of it anyhow.
Maybe a cheaper alternative also, even if it is less capable, at least used in the upcoming comparative tests!
Value for money är viktigt för mig, jag lägger hellre pengar på bra högtalare och ett fint inrett lyssningsrum, än kablar och dyra förstärkare.
Men DRC känns som en genväg till HiFi för en rimlig budget.
Jag skulle vilja se hur väl Denons 4800 bio-förstärkare klarar det jobbet och hur andra produkter sedan står upp mot den.
Jag ser fördelen med Marantz bättre konstruktioner än Denons även om de är dyrare, med bättre Dac’ar och ringkärnetrafos. Men skillnaden i Sverige är ju mycket större än i t.ex. USA? Septon får väl anpassa sig OM de vill konkurrera!
With these prices, it seems obvious to choose the Denon X4800H.
The missing backlight of the control and the slight less than execellent measurements of the DAC are small flaws.
Hope to see it as the good piece of HW it is, being midrange at a low price.
With a big budget, I would choose the X6800H or the Cinema 40.
